The Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) wants to highlight and recognize the art and artists who created murals in downtown and surrounding neighborhoods during the social justice movement of 2020.
ASSIGNMENT
Our team was charged with using GCAC’s archives of more than 200 murals to create a 200-page coffee table-style look book that features:
• Existing and original photography of art and artists
• QR codes to short films and videos
• Essays from local writers to give context to the social and artistic movement
• Long and short narratives to profile artists and art organizations who were involved

SOLUTION
As Lead Designer of the coffee book we focused on the artists that participated in the murals and other art created during the protests of 2020. We wanted to expand the art throughout the pages as well as create a time capsule of that time period. We wanted the reader to feel empowered, hopeful and informed.
